Who is eligible for an internship in New Zealand?

Recently I was asked a question: is there are any interns needed in New Zealand? Yes, they are. It is common practice among New Zealand students. During internship students gain real experience and collect references while employers get work done for free (almost) and get new potential employees. Students are not the only one who can do internship. The following categories are eligible for an Internship in New Zealand:

  • People who hold New Zealand Student Visa can do part time internship for 20 hours per week during term time or can take full time when they do not have studies
  • People who are required to do an internship as part of their course from an institute or university in home country
  • People who hold New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
  • People who hold New Zealand Work Visa
  • New Zealand and Australian Residents or Citizens
